Bevan does it again! Cornholed is another fine edition to Robert's shorts....shut up, Cooper! These short series are great, and this one delivers...this is yet another mis-adventure in the world of creatures and caverns. I wish they were weekly in stalls but I know a guy's got to have the time. Dave maybe unlucky...the rabbit is Jinks....and Tim is a whiner! But that's what makes this a great series. This book had me literally Laughing Out Loud throughout the whole thing. Epic comedy. The dialogue is hilarious. The writing is very good.
I gotta read other works by this author immediately. "Cob Gobbler" lol.
I will never get tired of Robert Bevans creatures and caverns series. I dont believe a series has made me laugh so much.
I have loved this series from the first read and "Cornholed" keeps the laughs coming. Can't wait for the 3rd book!
An amazing romp through a C&C (read D&D) wonderland so cleverly designed with tongue firmly in cheek that it makes the bizzarre ragtag group who call themselves adventurers seem right at home. Not only did I laugh till my wife woke up and yelled at me for being so loud, I actually got some great ideas for my own game.
Write more, damn you Bevan! More!!! More!!! More!!!
Bought, read, laughed, tried to explain why to my wife (it didn't go over all that well).
As usual in this series, the story itself defies rational description beyond the fact that it's funny as hell and definitely not for everyone. If you ever played D&D and/or enjoy comedic fantasy AND don't get offended over words then this is most definitely the thing for you. I have yet to read one thing in this series that didn't make me laugh out loud, usually at night, usually waking up my wife.
The hapless crew of gamers trapped in the lives of their Caverns and Creatures characters continues on in Robert Bevan's humorous encounters with classic D&D monsters, thoughroughly flavored with his familiar crude humor. Cooper, Tim, Julian and Dave get stoned with racist plantation owners, screwed by elves and goblins and suffer misadventures with unseen stairs.
Man, oh man, how I laughed! The titles of Mr. Bevans books never mean what they make you think of, but boy, do his characters get cornholed in other ways! This story had me laughing out loud, and when I'm actually laughing instead of just chuckling in my head, then that earns bonus points from me. Thanks for that! Yep, I'd recommend this story and author.
